Ladies Section

Hi there!

Welcome to the ladies’ section of the Shirley Park Golf Club’s website.

My name is Emma Clarke and as this year’s Lady Captain I am hopeful that you have clicked on this link to find out a little more about our club and ladies’ golf in general.

At Shirley Park, we have a very friendly ladies’ section, all of whom love the game of golf, getting out into the fresh air and walking round our lovely golf course!

Our ladies are all mixed ability, we have some beginners, we have regular and experienced players plus some ladies who have picked up the game again later in life. There is no real age barrier with golf and because of the way the game is scored (the handicap system), mixed abilities can play together which makes for a very sociable and inclusive game.

Our ladies’ meet up days are generally Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays where we may have a competition, a friendly game or perhaps a match against another club. There is always something to play for.

Like apres ski, we are big fans of apres golf! A drink and lunch after golf always goes down well particularly as we have some fabulous new Italian chefs in our club kitchen!

The ladies’ section and of course the Club itself holds varied social events like music nights, quizzes etc which are always enjoyed by members and guests alike.

I hope this has given you a little insight into our ladies’ section and our golf club in general and look forward to welcoming you in the very near future.
